KEY PRINCIPLES AND ACTIVATION OF COVENANT OF INCREASE
TEACHER: PASTOR MRS IDOWU OGUNFOWORA
INTRODUCTION: A
covenant in the Bible is a solemn binding agreement between God and humanity,
often involving promises, obligations and blessings. Biblical covenants are God-initiated, sacred agreements emphasising love, loyalty and divine commitment rather than
mere legal terms. We are called to embrace His commandments as a reflection of
His love and character. This covenant invites us to live a life of obedience, allowing us to experience God’s blessings and guidance in our daily lives.
KEY PRINCIPLES
- God initiates the Covenant: Biblical covenants originate from God, not human effort. Divine increase is based on grace, revealed through encounters with God, and is lasting compared to temporary human strategies.
- Generational Blessing: The covenant extends beyond the individual to their descendants, ensuring that God’s blessings overflow from one generation to another (Genesis 17:7).
- Holistic Increase: Increase is not only financial but also spiritual, mental, social, and physical. God desires progressive growth in all areas of life. 3John:1:2
- Faith and Expectation: Believers are encouraged to renew their minds to expect increase, aligning their faith with God’s promises rather than limiting themselves through doubt. Heb 11:1-3
ACTIVATION:
- Cooperate with God in complete obedience, prayer, and humility (DEUT.28:
1-2; 1 Samuel 15:20-23; 1 Timothy 6:14; 1 Thessalonians 5;!7; 2 Chronicles
7:14),
- Exercise faith in God’s promises, trusting Him; with Him nothing shall be impossible- Daniel 3:17-30:
Gen 22:1-12; Luke 1:34-37;
- Live generously and serve others, as
God’s blessings often flow in response to faithful stewardship and
obedience. ( the widow of Zarephath-1kings 17:8-16; the Shunammite
woman: 2 kings 4:8-17)
- Seek spiritual growth alongside material increase, ensuring that all aspects of our life align with God’s purpose.
- Be expectant; The expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off.
PRAYER
LORD, LET MY LIFE BE AN EXAMPLE OF YOUR GLORY AS LONG AS I LIVE
AND IN ETERNITY. IN JESUS' NAME. AMEN.
