Pastor's Reflection
"David asked," Is there
anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for
Jonathan's sake?" 1
Samuel 9: 1
Most kings in David's day tried to
wipe out the families of their rivals in order to prevent any descendants from
seeking the throne, but because God was
with king David, he was able to do exemplary and instead of revenge,
he extend kindness to the family of his rival.
1. GREAT KINDNESS
David showed kindness to
Mephibosheth, whose father was Jonathan and whose grandfather was King Saul.
This is your time of possessing the great kindness which no member of your
family has ever dreamt of in Jesus unfailing name.
2. TOTAL LOYALTY.
David was kind because of his
loyalty to God's previously anointed King. Loyalty is the product of unity in
the household of faith. The loyalty you show to those that have spiritual
caring over your life will cause the heaven that controls kindness to be opened
to you in your entire endeavour.
3. FULFILLMENT OF VOW
The kindness unleashed upon
Mephibosheth, who became crippled when he was five years old was as a result of
a vow David made to show kindness to all Jonathan's descendants. (1 Samuel 20:
14-17) Determine to redeem your pledge/vow made toward the project the church.
This can be an avenue for heaven to open beyond measure over your life.
Shalom.
