Pastor's Reflections
Branded
“Now
Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his
old age: and he made
him a coat
of many colours” Gen. 37:3
Glory be
God for another Teens Week this year tagged Branded.
If I may
asked, who needs to be branded? By who
are we branded? For what purpose are we
branded?
All these
questions will be answered now.
i)
Who
needs to be branded?
You and I needs to be branded
because the Psalmist said Behold, I was
brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5 and also in Psalm 40:2 “ He
also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet
upon a rock, And established my steps.”
As we all know that, after the
fall of man in the garden of Eden, man became “horrible creature” that was
controlled by Satan and the dwelling place of man became “miry clay” and ever
since then God started working on our behalf so has to bring us back to our
original nature He wanted for us.
ii)
By
who are we branded?
God,
God rebrands us through His only begotten Son- Jesus Christ – John 3:16a For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son … by
becoming sin and took the judgments due to us on the cross of Calvary for the
remission of our sin.
iii)
For
what Purpose are we branded?
The reasons and purpose why God
rebranding us is to bring us back to our original position he had placed us – His
image and likeness – Gen. 1:26
i)
To
regained our dominion over everything He
has created;
ii)
To
join the other creature above and worship Him at all time both in Spirit and in
truth;
iii)
To
dwell with Him in His kingdom.
Conclusion
This
year theme is not meant for the Teenagers alone, it is for the entire body of
Christ (The Church), be it CFM, FWI, YOUTH, TEENS and CHILDREN, we are to allow
God to rebrand us so as to suit His purpose, because that was the original plan
of God for man even after the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden – Gen
3. “for the Lord of hosts hath purposed,
and who shall disannul it? and His hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it
back – Isaiah 14:27. Therefore,
surrender yourself to God for rebranding and your life will not remain the same
again.
Shalom
